Everton new stadium evacuated in second test event at Bramley-Moore dock - Iqraa news

Everton's second test match at the club's new stadium did not last 90 minutes. The club's Under-21s will host Bolton Wanderers B on Sunday afternoon in the latest step in the historic transition from Goodison Park to its stunning new waterfront stadium.

All four sides of the ground were open for the 2pm kick-off as 25,000 Blues get to taste matchday action on the banks of Mersey, many for the first time.

But unlike the opening game - last month's U18s clash with Wigan Athletic - this match did not go the distance. Instead, the match ended with a stadium evacuation in the 65th minute of the second half.

Kingsford Boayke's header gave Everton the victory after a hard-fought game against Bolton's B side.

The move is a key part of the club's work towards earning the safety certificate needed to complete the move in the summer. Supporters are asked to follow the guidance given to them and to take part in the procedure so that it can be fully assessed by the authorities - rather than, say, leave early in order to avoid the test.

The match will not restart after the evacuation, and re-entry to the ground will not be permitted, meaning there will be no reason to congregate or gather following the evacuation.
