LEO Hjelde looks set to miss Sunderland's trip to Coventry City this weekend, but the Black Cats have no other fitness concerns ahead of the game.

Hjelde made his first Championship starts of the season in the wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City but dropped to the bench for the midweek draw with Preston North End.

And Regis Le Bris has now revealed the former Leeds defender has a "small injury" that could result in him missing Saturday's game.

But the Sunderland squad will be otherwise unchanged.

"Leo could need probably some days to rest after a small injury but for the others they are OK," said Le Bris in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Le Bris hopes Salis Abdul Samed will be fit to return after the international break, but there's no update on Jayden Danns, with the Liverpool loanee not yet ready to link up with the squad.

He continues to get treatment on a back injury at his parent club.

On Samed, Le Bris said: "I don't know, really. I hope it will be the case (after break) but we'll have to wait."

The final international break of the season follows Saturday's game, with Le Bris of the opinion that the stoppage is coming at a good time for his side ahead of the final run-in before the play-offs, which Sunderland look almost certain to be competing in.

He said: "We'll have an opportunity to recover with the international break and then it will be like a sprint.

"It will be a good opportunity to reset and think about new ideas."
