Erling Haaland remains a doubt for Manchester City's Premier League clash with Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Haaland has missed the last two fixtures - defeats to Real Madrid and Liverpool - with his knee injury having not missed a Premier League or Champions League prior to that this season. Guardiola had said he was 'close but not close enough' in Madrid, and the Norwegian similarly reported himself not ready to face Liverpool on Sunday when he was not in the matchday squad.

The striker trained before both of those games and was pictured in training on Monday as those who didn't start against Liverpool took part in training while others did a recovery session inside.

And Guardiola says he doesn't know if Haaland will be fit for City's Premier League trip to Tottenham on Wednesday.

In his pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: "Tonight we will know after training. I hope (he will be fit) but I don't know yet. He feels better but the last two games he could not play. We'll see tomorrow."

Elsewhere, Ruben Dias is expected to be available after dropping to the bench against Liverpool in a game he would have been expected to start. Dias did come on towards the end of that game and has trained since. John Stones, Manu Akanji, Oscar Bobb and Rodri remain injured.
