TADCASTER Albion will look to welcome the weekend with a Friday night victory.

Mick O’Connell’s side will welcome play-off occupants Albion Sports to the Young Guns Arena on Friday night (7.45pm), taking on the West Yorkshire-based side that were pipped to promotion by Garforth Town last campaign.

Sports have struggled to replicate that same level of form at times this season, but will head into the contest against Tadcaster with confidence – having beaten the Brewers 3-2 earlier in the month.

Nathan Cartman will understandably be a problem for Taddy, having scored 24 goals this campaign.

Pickering Town’s hopes for a play-off spot has dwindled with eight points separating them and Albion Sports, with the latter also having three matches in hand.

Nevertheless, Pickering will be keen to respond after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Beverley Town in Saturday, when they welcome mid-table Bottesford Town on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

Back-to-back wins for the Pikes had been disrupted by that Beverley defeat, but they’ll have belief against a Bottesford side that occupy 16th position and have won just one in five.

It’s also the first of three for Town’s final matches of the season – all of which will be at home.

Selby Town find themselves in a similar predicament to Pickering, as a part of the chasing pack for the play-offs, only this time in the Northern Counties Eastern League Division One.

They could potentially help their case when welcoming Brigg Town to the Fairfax Plant Hire Stadium on Saturday (3pm), with the visitors occupying the play-offs.

Selby are seven points adrift with five matches remaining, but are playing three teams below them in the table during that time.

The recent good form of Harry Clapham has aided the Robins in a four match unbeaten run, whilst Brigg have tasted victory just twice in their last nine.
