Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has given injury updates on Emi Martinez and Marco Asensio after the 1-0 win over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Both players were absent from Villa’s squad to face the Bees this evening as Robin Olsen started in goal instead of Martinez.
Olsen kept only Villa’s fourth clean sheet of the season as he made saves and claimed the ball in front of his teammates, who defended manfully in the second half.

After Villa’s win over Brentford, Emery was asked about the two players.
“They were not feeling good yesterday,” the Villa manager explained. ”They had some muscle pain.
“Not really important because we still tested them, but they weren't available.
“We decided to avoid risk with both players. Hopefully both can recover for Wednesday.”
Villa take on Club Brugge in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday before the international break.
Emery’s side don’t play a league fixture next weekend as their match with Liverpool was brought forward due to the Reds’ participation in the Carabao Cup final.
