Real Sociedad and Real Madrid take centre stage in the Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg tonight.
After the eight-goal thriller in yesterday’s other semi-final, it will certainly be a tough act to follow for two teams who are both eyeing success domestically as well as in Europe.
For Real Sociedad, tonight’s game kickstarts a difficult run of fixtures as they face Barcelona at the weekend and have a Europa League round of 16 tie with Manchester United before the campaign pauses for the international break.
Real Madrid’s fixture schedule is equally hectic as a Champions League round of 16 clash with rivals Atletico Madrid looms. Though, for tonight’s Copa del Rey semi-final, they can hand a recall to Jude Bellingham as his ban only applies to La Liga matches.
Tonight’s first-leg will be held at the Reale Arena, before the Santiago Bernabeu stages the return fixture at the beginning of April. The winners will meet either Barcelona or Atletico Madrid in the final.
