Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett reckons Swansea’s second goal against Rovers shouldn’t have stood.

Dion Sanderson felt he was fouled by Zan Vipotnik but play was allowed to continue by referee Gavin Ward. Myles Peart-Harris raced through on goal and kept his cool to slot past Aynsley Pears.

That made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time and Swansea added a third after the break when Liam Cullen steered home from Peart-Harris’ pass.

It was a frustrating result for Rovers, who were looking to boost their play-off push following victories against West Brom and Plymouth under interim boss David Lowe.

Swansea also had a caretaker manager in the dugout, with Alan Sheehan leading the team following Luke Williams' departure earlier that week.

“He’s holding him back, that’s a foul in fairness,” Hackett told Football Insider. “The referee has missed one, there’s a foul in the build-up to play I think.

“He’s not seen it as a foul, he’s allowed play to continue and they’ve scored. I think they’re unfortunate.”

Lowe also felt the goal should have been chalked off. After the final whistle in South Wales, he said: "It looked like a foul to me and it looked as though the ref was going to blow for a foul, but obviously he didn't.

"Sometimes you get results that go for you, sometimes you get results that don't go for you.

"Unfortunately, you could argue that we've come on the wrong end of one today but that's football. Some days they go for you, some days they don't."
