SIRIKI Dembele has been praised for putting in the hard yards, with his reward back-to-back winners in home games for Oxford United.
The 28-year-old attacker scored the only goal of the game against Watford prior to the March international break, and repeated the trick against Sheffield United yesterday.
A long throw-in from Will Vaulks wasn’t dealt with by the Blades, allowing the ball to drop for Dembele, who kept his composure to finish from inside the six-yard box.

U’s head coach Gary Rowett said: “He’s been excellent Dembs. He’s one of those players I think that at the start of me coming in, Tyler [Goodrham] had that shirt, but I know what Dembs is capable of.

“He’s got so much talent, and I think what he’s done is put some real hard work and some real energy into that.
“He’s played very diligently for the team, but he’s got the quality at the other end, and that’s invaluable to us.
“We’re going to need everyone like that to put a shift in and sometimes do things they don’t naturally want to do, but that’s how you win games.
“I’m pleased for him because he has got that danger about him, and I’m pleased he’s won us the last two home games.”
