WHETHER it is Warrington Wolves or St Helens who emerge victorious on Sunday, they will walk off the pitch knowing who blocks their path to Wembley Stadium.
The two neighbours meet at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in the Challenge Cup quarter-finals at the weekend – the last of the four ties to be played.
Before then, the cross-city derby between bitter rivals Hull FC and Hull KR takes centre stage on Saturday after the other two ties – Catalans Dragons vs Salford Red Devils and Wakefield Trinity vs Leigh Leopards – are played on Friday evening.
Whoever progresses through those ties will have their eyes on the semi-final draw, which also takes place at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Challenge Cup semi-final draw time and details
The draw for the semi-finals will be done at half-time of the Warrington-St Helens match as part of BBC Two’s live coverage of the game.
As has been the case in the past three seasons, the semi-final ties will be played on separate neutral grounds as “double-headers” with last-four games in the women’s competition over the weekend of May 10-11.
Venues for the semi-finals are expected to be confirmed early next week.
