York Racecourse is inviting community groups to apply for its 2025 partnership scheme.
Two chosen charities or groups will be awarded a one-off cash donation and a range of benefits.
In 2024, the racecourse's community-centred activities included a surprise visit from equine ambassador, Remy, to Brainkind and Blueberry Academy's participation in the Countryside Market on an October race day.
Clifton Green Primary School enjoyed a standout partnership with York Racecourse, which will continue into 2025.
Nicola Green, headteacher, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to be continuing as a local charity partner of York Racecourse.
"The partnership continues to be really strong.
"A highlight of this year was the Racecourse team coming complete with diggers and lots of enthusiasm to create a science garden for our students to enjoy.
"We look forward to building on this in the future and wholly appreciate the charitable support we receive from the entire team at York Racecourse and the experiences this provides to our children and community."
The two partners selected for 2025 will each receive a guaranteed £1,000 cash donation.
They will also have the chance to organise a bucket collection at York Racecourse, host a fundraising event at a discounted rate, and receive practical assistance from the racecourse team.
This could include advice on raising their profile, boosting digital and social media activity, or even guidance on health and safety.
The racecourse's equine ambassador, Remy, will also be available to create those 'surprise and delight' moments.
This initiative is an addition to the existing six-figure support that York Racecourse provides to local charities, schools, and other community organisations by means of raffle prizes.
It complements the Ebor Community Sweepstake, which aligns good causes across York and the wider county with the Sky Bet Ebor, giving a £20,000 grant for first place to specific projects.
Since 1971, York Racecourse has also backed Macmillan's largest fundraising event, the Macmillan Charity Raceday.
The 54th Macmillan Charity Raceday will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, with the racecourse having raised more than £11 million for Macmillan so far.
The racecourse also has charitable partnerships with racing charities including Racing Welfare and New Beginnings.
Amy Swales, who heads these projects for York Racecourse, said: "York Racecourse is proud to have an extensive charity and local community programme which has generated vital funds for Macmillan, our racing charitable partners and our local community over many years.
"We are delighted to extend this programme for 2025 and look forward to selecting York Racecourse Local Community Partners who we can support in a more focused and targeted way during the year ahead.
"Hopefully, we have the ability to make a big difference to these organisations over a year."
The closing date for applications is Friday, April 25.
