Birmingham City midfielder Paik Seung-ho won’t play in South Korea’s World Cup qualifier against Jordan on Tuesday.
Paik sustained an injury to his left hamstring in the first half of South Korea’s 1-1 draw with Oman on Thursday and had to be substituted. The midfielder was able to walk off the pitch and went to hospital for further tests on Friday.
The midfielder is one of three players South Korea head coach Hong Myung-bo has ruled out of their next match, the others being Paris Saint-Germain’s Lee Kang-in and Al Wasl’s Jeong Seung-hyun.

The trio are expected to receive treatment in Korea before returning to their respective clubs to be assessed next week.
Paik has been extremely influential for Blues this season, playing 40 games and forging a formidable midfield partnership with Japanese enforcer Tomoki Iwata. Blues manager Chris Davies won’t want to be without Paik for any length of time with the promotion run-in and the Vertu Trophy final at Wembley on the horizon.
Blues already have Taylor Gardner-Hickman out injured but Scottish midfielder Marc Leonard has recently returned to the squad after a month out with a laceration below the knee.
