Carlisle United's chief executive has insisted that now is not the right time to "dig into" the full reasons for this season's failure.
Nigel Clibbens has conceded that "mistakes" have been made along the way at the EFL's bottom club.
But the director also suggested that any full review of 2024/25's problems and decisions at Brunton Park should only be made at the end of the season.
Carlisle are nine points from safety with ten games to go and are odds-on to be relegated to the National League.
Their dire campaign has brought strong criticism from supporters with a second consecutive relegation appearing on the cards.
Clibbens, though, said that the "leadership group" at Brunton Park had decided that only once the campaign was over should everything be fully aired.
In a short published extract from an interview with BBC Radio Cumbria, Clibbens said: "Mistakes have been made. There's no doubt about that.
"Decisions that were made in good faith haven't turned out anywhere near what we want.
"We discussed it with the leadership group this week and the view we've taken is that the time to dig into that is when the season is over and not now."
The full interview is yet to be broadcast by Radio Cumbria.
United face Bromley on Saturday desperate for a win that can revive their fading hopes of survival.
They are on their third manager/head coach of the season in Mark Hughes, and have used 42 players in their 36 league games and 49 in all competitions this campaign.
United's decision-making and recruitment has come in for heavy scrutiny from fans and the media as the Cumbrians slide closer to non-league for only the second time in their history.
Bookmakers this week made the Blues 1/8 to go down, a season after they came back down from League One.
