Newcastle United fans have been criticised for "trashing" a popular London nightlife spot ahead of the Wembley Carabao Cup final.
Empty bags, beer bottles and cans are just some of the litter that has been left by football fans who took to Convent Garden in London last night (March 15) to party ahead of the Carabao Cup final today.
Videos have emerged on social media of the rubbish strewn across the ground and in plant pots as commenters rage they should "go back the next day to clean up".
Another person responded with: "Shameful. They make for terrible visitors" and another added: "If that is how they treat a beautiful place like Covent Garden, how do they treat their own homes and city. Bloody disgusting."
Others said the fans should be "ashamed" with one person claiming Newcastle fans would "be the first to kick off if another team left their city like that."
Another video shows a man sweeping some of the rubbish to the side.
It's now just hours until the Magpies will take on Liverpool at Wembley at 4.30pm as they hope to take home the Carabao Cup.
Rubbish left by Newcastle United fans. (Image: TIKTOK) A total of 32,000 Toon supporters are expected to watch the match at Wembley - and club itself has even made remarks about Geordies "taking over" the capital as the team made its way south yesterday.
To mark the occasion, the Angel of the North in Gateshead even has its very own black and white shirt numbered 25 - saying "tell me ma".
New pictures on social media show the area cleared, however, with suggestions that fans came back to clean up.
