Bolton-based boxer Lee Gormley registered a fifth professional victory in Birmingham as he stepped up to six rounds for the first time.

The Northern Irishman, who fights out of Halliwell’s Elite Gym, has now had six pro bouts, winning this longer clash 58-56 on points against Jake Pollard in Birmingham.

It was a good victory for the 32-year-old super featherweight as je looks to step things up in 2025 after arriving late to the sport.

Gormley said: “I just earned my fifth career win in my first step up to six rounds.

“I beat Jake Pollard by decision in a super-featherweight contest over six rounds in Birmingham - an Anthony Manning Promotions show.

“I’m really pleased with my latest win and especially with the performance.

“It was my best yet in my first step up to six rounds and I got to show all my improvements from working hard at Elite Boxing Gym.

“I’ve been fortunate to stay busy over the last few months and I’d like to continue that activity throughout the rest of 2025.

“I was straight back in the gym a few days after the last fight and I’m excited to be working towards a potential big title shot in the summer.

“I give absolutely everything to boxing and I’m enjoying this journey every day.

“Improvement and progression is addictive and I’m more motivated than ever to continue getting better and better in the ring.”

Gormley has high hopes for the future by acknowledges he can only progress with continued support from outside the ring.

He went on: ““A massive thank you to all my dedicated coaches and all my current sponsors for their continued support.

“I couldn’t do this without them.

“Shout out to vivanmn, Byrne Civil Solutions Ltd, G&G Trailers Freight Ltd, Roofkings, GoClick Media, BOXRAW and Anthony Hendron School of Motoring - who have all backed me.

“Now I am aiming to secure more sponsorship from companies and businesses within the North West area to help me to progress even further and stay busy as a professional fighter.”
