Two of Carlisle United’s young loanees tasted their first victory with Carlisle City on Saturday.
Trent Chapman and Josh O’Brien were in action for Dan Kirkup’s side in their Northern League Division One trip to West Auckland Town.
And they helped the Sky Blues to a welcome 4-1 victory on the road.
Both young Blues played the full game as goals from Kieron Olsen, Tom Mahone and Jordan Irving (two) ended City’s five-game losing run.
A third United teenager, Freddie O’Donoghue, was not involved for 17th-placed City, who host Tow Law Town on Tuesday night.
Dan Hopper got his latest outing for Penrith in their Division One home clash with Blyth Town.
Hopper came close to scoring in the second half but Darren Edmondson’s 15th-placed side went down to a 3-2 defeat, with another United youth loanee, Mason Fleming, not involved as Robbie Hebson and James Bell netted for Penrith.

North of the border, Taylor Charters played the full game for Queen of the South as Peter Murphy’s side fell to a 3-1 defeat at Cove Rangers in Scottish League One.
It was a sixth Doonhamers outing for midfielder Charters, with sixth-placed Queens at home to Alloa Athletic next weekend.
Sam Hetherington had another good day with Darlington, the teenager coming into the side for his latest start as the Quakers won 2-0 at Hereford.
Hetherington played the first 71 minutes before being substituted by boss Steve Watson as Darlo saw through a win that sees them tenth in National League North ahead of Tuesday's home clash with Radcliffe.
There were also starts for Aran Fitzpatrick and Jake Allan as Workington Reds enjoyed an emphatic home win over Blyth Spartans in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.
Fitzpatrick played the full game and Allan was replaced on 76 minutes as goals from Efe Ambrose, Ruben Grewal, Dav Symington and Steven Rigg sealed a 4-1 win for Mark Fell’s 15th-placed side, who host Gainsborough Trinity next Saturday.
Luke Armstrong had no game for Motherwell this weekend, the Scottish Premiership side back in action next Saturday at home to St Mirren.
A number of ex-Blues were in the thick of the weekend action, meanwhile.
Jarrad Branthwaite played the full game for Everton in their 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League, while Dean Henderson kept a clean sheet for Crystal Palace in their 1-0 win over Ipswich Town.
There was yet another Championship clean sheet for James Trafford as Burnley thrashed Luton Town 4-0 at Turf Moor.
A latest Wigan Athletic outing for Jon Mellish saw the former United favourite start in attacking midfield in a 1-0 win over Cambridge United, while Owen Moxon came off the bench in Stockport County’s 0-0 draw with Charlton Athletic in League One.
In League Two, Omari Patrick dealt a blow to Carlisle’s survival hopes with the winner in Tranmere Rovers’ 2-1 victory against Bromley.
Dan Butterworth was on target in Swindon Town’s 2-2 draw at Doncaster Rovers, while Aaron Pressley – son of former Blues manager Steven – scored to help Barrow to a 2-0 victory over Accrington Stanley.
Paul Huntington, meanwhile, was in the Bradford City line-up as the Bantams suffered a 1-0 defeat at Gillingham.
The National League saw a debut for Josh Emmanuel as a substitute for FC Halifax Town in their 1-0 home win over Yeovil Town.
Northern League Division One saw Elliott Day on target for Shildon in their 1-1 draw with Kendal Town.
In Scottish League One, Stefan Scougall hit what proved a consolation goal as Alloa Athletic were beaten 3-2 at home by Arbroath.
In the Scottish Championship, Sean McGinty scored for Hamilton Academical in their 2-1 defeat at Airdrieonians.
