Darlington need the three points from their home game against Radcliffe Borough on Tuesday to build momentum for their play-off push.

The Quakers won 2-0 at fourth placed Hereford on Saturday to put them back into tenth in the table, nine points below the play off places with two games in hand.

Darlington assistant manager Terry Mitchell said: “Radcliffe are fighting for their lives against relegation and have been on a decent run recently “It will be a tough, tough game, and we can’t take our foot off the pedal. We need to win seven or eight of our remaining games.”

Quakers have been inconsistent in front of goal in their last two matches. They missed several chances at Spennymoor Town, but kept their cool and took two chances at Hereford with Matty Cornish scoring twice.

“We’ve previously been getting into good positions and not doing it, but on Saturday at half time we told the players to show some composure, and that’s what we got.”

Darlington will once again include new striker Ben Andreucci, who was signed on loan from Bolton Wanderers late on Friday afternoon, and came on as a late sub on Saturday.

“He’s been in the league before, he had a really good spell at Buxton before he picked up a shoulder injury,” added Mitchell.

“We want to keep adding extra quality to the top line, because our aim is to win as many games as we can by the end of the season. We want as many options as possible at the top end of the pitch. We want quality forwards to come off the bench.”

Darlington will probably be missing five players because of injury – Kallum Griffiths, Tom Platt, Cameron Salkeld, Andrew Nelson and Caden Kelly – so youngster Will Maddison might again be on the bench.

Radcliffe, who are managed by former Salford City pair Bernard Morley and Antony Johnson, have steadily improved since they lost 4-1 to Quakers in November.

They have lost just once in their last five away league games, which has helped them climb up to 19th in the table.
