Worthing can go four points clear after hitting top spot in the table.
Boss Chris Agutter was delighted with a 3-0 win at home to Chesham.
They now look to extend their advantage when they face a Monday night trip to lowly Aveley in Vanarama National League south.
Goals from Joel Colbran, Liam Nash and Temi Babalola and wrapped up the points against Chesham.
Agutter said: “I think we were the better side with the exception of ten or 15 minutes in the middle period of the first half.
“We were good value for a very important three points.
“The goals were well-worked. I think when we went 3-0 up we could then go four or five if we were bit more aggressive.
“I’d have liked them to have been a bit more ruthless.
“Goal difference is an extra point. It is so tight and it all adds up.”
Odei Martin Sorondo, described as “outstanding” by his boss, suffered a dead leg so will be a doubt for the Aveley clash.
Agutter warned: “Aveley at home was one of the toughest games we have had here all season. Thay are fighting for their lives and I am really surprised they are where they are.”
Eastbourne Borough beat Chippenham 4-1 with Jayden Davis, Yahaya Bamba, Jason Adigun and George Alexander, who had missed a penalty in the first half, on target.
Borough boss Adam Murray said: “I thought the boys were great.
“There were some huge performances. It is about pushing standards constantly and that is what we did.”
