Liverpool legend Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he plans to make a return to Anfield to watch the Reds but only when the Premier League title has already been wrapped up.

Arne Slot, who took over from Klopp last summer, has Liverpool 13 points clear at the top of the table. That lead could extend to 16 points before Arsenal plays Manchester United this weekend if the Reds can beat Southampton at home.

While Slot and his players continue to insist that there is still work to be done, they are the overwhelming favorite to lift the league title trophy in May. And then there will be a parade around the city which Klopp wants to attend.

"Yes, the plan is [to be there for the celebrations] but not on the bus," the former Liverpool manager said when he was asked if he was going to return to Merseyside. "I will be there where the people are. That’s the idea, but we will see."

Klopp is yet to return to Liverpool to watch a game and has begun his new job with the Red Bull group. But he hopes to make an appearance at Anfield before the campaign is out.

"I will be there for the last game," Klopp outlined while speaking at a fundraising event in Cape Town. "I didn’t want to go earlier to be honest because I didn’t want to jinx it! They win all the time and I’m the first time in the stadium and they lose! So, I’ll go there when it’s decided."

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is also looking forward to a trophy parade. He has long stated that winning the Premier League again is the main thing that he wants to achieve — even above the Champions League, though the Reds could yet win both.

"It's an incredible day [Liverpool trophy parade]," he told " target="_blank" class="link"> Optus Sport. "That's why I'm really desperate to win the Premier League with the club now, just have the same day as this one.

"It's going to be unforgettable because I know how much it means to win the Premier League. I just want to win the Premier League with the city and the fans. To experience that day and go on the parade in the city, it's going to be incredible."

Liverpool.com says: Klopp coming back when the Reds have won the league would be a nice moment for everyone. He has played a big role in putting together this team and left it on an upward trajectory when he departed and Slot took over. The current head coach deserves big credit, of course, but so does the German.
