Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has finally won the League One manager of the month award.
Davies has been presented with the gong for Blues’ results in February that saw them pull clear in the League One title race. Blues are nine points ahead of second-placed Wycombe, with a game in hand, and on course to return to the Championship at the first time of asking.
Despite all their success this season, Davies hasn’t got his hands on the manager of the month award until now. He missed out in August, September, December and January to Phil Parkinson, Steve Bruce and Richie Wellens respectively.

The 39-year-old has now received the first individual accolade of his managerial career.
“I’m very proud to win the award and honestly I think it’s credit to everyone here at the training ground, and the staff for the work they’ve done,” said Davies.
“It’s the manager of the month but it’s really the staff and all the work that everyone has done behind the scenes that has allowed us to have the season so far that we’ve had and me to get that award.
“I’m proud to get it, it’s a sign that we’re making progress and had a good month. It’s not my main objective this season, absolutely, but I’m very proud to have it.”
