Burnley right-back Connor Roberts has penned a new two-year deal at Turf Moor with the option of a further 12 months.

Roberts joined the Clarets from Swansea in the summer of 2021 and recently made his 100th appearance for the club.

The Welsh international was a key member of the squad that won the Championship in 2022/23, scoring the goal that clinched promotion at Middlesbrough.

Roberts had a loan spell at Leeds during the second half of 2023/24 and has played a big role this season as Scott Parker's side battle to win promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking.

"I'm really happy to be extending my stay with Burnley," he told the club site. "It's a special club with special fans and I'm looking forward to creating more great memories.

"This has been a brilliant season for our defence but the sole focus is on promotion to the Premier League."

Burnley are back at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon when they take on relegation-threatened Luton.

The Clarets are two points behind second-place Sheffield United heading towards the business stage of the campaign.
