Alisson produced an imperious performance for Liverpool against Paris Saint-Germain but it was not enough to earn a 10 out of 10 rating from L'Equipe.
The Brazil international said after the Reds' 1-0 win in the French capital that his display was arguably the best of his career, as he laid the foundations for Harvey Elliott's smash-and-grab winner.
Alisson came up with a series of impressive stops, notably denying Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from close range in the first half, before producing several fine saves from long-range shots after the pause.
In their post-match interviews with UK broadcasters, Elliott and Liverpool head coach Arne Slot both said that Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world, and the goalkeeper's display was enough to earn him a 10/10 rating in Liverpool.com's player ratings from the match.
However, L'Equipe is notoriously stingy when it comes to its player ratings, and Alisson's performance was only worthy of a nine out of 10 in the French outlet's books.
That's a significantly higher mark than the one which went to Alisson's opposite number, Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was handed a four out of 10.
The paper said: "In a duel from a distance, Alisson, the Brazilian goalkeeper of Liverpool, delivered an immense performance during the Reds' victory at the Parc des Princes (1-0) on Wednesday. Conversely, Gianluigi Donnarumma missed the opponent's only shot on target."
There are only a few players in history who have received a perfect 10 from L'Equipe. Ademola Lookman was the most recent player to get top marks, for his performance in last season's Europa League final, when he scored a hat-trick in Atalanta's win over Bayer Leverkusen.
Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi are the only players to have been marked 10 out of 10 on two occasions: Messi's came in wins for Barcelona over Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen in 2010 and 2012 respectively, while Haaland's came in wins for Manchester City over Manchester United and RB Leipzig in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Other players to have scored 10 out of 10 include Robert Lewandowski, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
