Manchester United supporters have been giving their thoughts on Rasmus Hojlund’s ongoing goal drought.

Hojlund's struggles were laid bare in the FA Cup loss to Fulham on Sunday when he was replaced by the latest academy star Chido Obi, who looked to be more of a threat, enhancing his first-team credentials in the process.

The forward has failed to score since netting a double against Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on 12 December. But United supporters, having their say in the comments section of the MEN, believe there is a solution to the 22-year-old’s problems.

Reader Mdh7469 said: "I would say that Hojlund will never be a striker. You may recall Ray Kennedy when at Arsenal he was a forward, Paisley saw that this lad was a midfielder and signed him for Liverpool. What a change, he was brilliant.

"Try him in midfield he has lots of energy. Additionally, the same goes for Zirkzee. Mr Amorim please read these articles, you might learn something."

AKewell remarked: "We've seen that he can score goals. This is a confidence thing, which all strikers suffer from periodically. We need to support him, not attack him and the best way to do that is to take the weight off his shoulders by signing another proven striker ASAP."

Sav7 said: "This is a squad and management problem. Formation doesn't work with our current squad in the EPL. Try one game at 4-4-2 or 4-5-1, to see how it goes. Also the injuries haven't helped either."

Jeffrafferty wrote: "Lone striker - no service - no goals. Utd moved onto the front foot after Fernandes scored, so Obi saw a bit more of the ball. Singling out Rasmus Hojlund for criticism is antagonistic. He would flourish in a better side."

GrahamP agreed, saying: "What I found so frustrating about Man Utd is that there was so many mis-passed balls. It was ridiculous for professionals, and the play in the last third was so underwhelming and weak. Rasmus Hojlund will never score because the ball is rarely put his way, he would be better off at another club that plays a different system, because the one Amorim is trying to play just isn't suited for exciting football."

Have your say! How do Manchester United get the best out of Rasmus Hojlund? Could he adapt to a different position? Comment below, and join in on the conversation.
