Chelsea is ‘relaxed’ about Cole Palmer’s future at Stamford Bridge despite him being tipped for a sensational move to Liverpool this week.

Palmer has been one of the Premier League’s outstanding players since he made the switch to Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023. He boasted more goal involvements (33) than any other player in the league during his debut season in London, leading to him earning a spot in England’s squad for Euro 2024, where he scored in the final against Spain.

Although his numbers have waned this season, and he is currently in his worst drought since making the move to Chelsea, Palmer remains one of the most exciting players around, with former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher among his biggest fans.

With Chelsea in a fight to secure Champions League football this season though, questions have been raised about the 22-year-old’s future. Former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke even sensationally claimed earlier this week that Liverpool could be an option should Palmer choose to leave Stamford Bridge.

"Where is he going to go and become a top player and the top man? Liverpool?” Yorke told CasinoBeats. “Maybe Man United, he said he's a Man United fan, but he won't go there because he's a City man. Outside of that is Arsenal, he won't go there because Bukayo Saka is there.

"Liverpool might be an option if Mo Salah were to leave, so that might be something that they might look to do. So, watch this space with that if Mo Salah leaves."

The chances of Palmer leaving Chelsea for Liverpool do look slim though, and it seems the Stamford Bridge chiefs aren’t too concerned about the former City star being on the move anytime soon.

According to Fabrizio Romano (via " target="_blank" class="link c2"> GIVEMESPORT's 'Market Madness' podcast), Chelsea is ‘relaxed’ about Palmer’s future. The England international is under contract with the London club until 2033, having signed a new deal less than a year after making the move to the club.

It’s claimed that Palmer has given no indication to Chelsea that he has any desire to leave the club, with the Blues still optimistic that they will secure a place in the Champions League for next season.

Chelsea currently sits a point off fourth-placed Man City with 11 games to go, although the race for a spot at Europe’s top table is tight. Just six points separates Nottingham Forest in third with Aston Villa in 10th, and it is looking likely that the Premier League will earn an extra place in next season’s Champions League, meaning finishing fifth may be enough to qualify.

Liverpool.com says: It’s never going to be likely that Palmer makes the move to Liverpool. The one thing the Reds have going for them is that they are in a much stronger position than Chelsea at the moment, but signing a player like that, on one of those ridiculous contracts that are constantly being handed out at Stamford Bridge, pretty much makes any sort of deal a non-starter.
