A moment of outstanding skill by former Welsh rugby prodigy Jordan Williams has gone viral online, picking up 1.2 million views in just over 24 hours.

Billed as a generational Welsh talent, Williams was likened to rugby legend Shane Williams, and showed exactly why he was worth the hype when Wales played Scotland in the Junior World Cup in 2013.

Kickstarting the attack, Williams shaped to kick before producing a sidestep the great Phil Bennett would have been proud of. A second sudden change of movement took him past a second player before jinking outside third.

With a gap in the defensive line, Williams stepped on the gas and burst through the hole, resulting in a chorus of gasps from the crowd. Fearing a tackle would soon come, Williams stuck a tidy grubber in behind for his teammates to chase, with Steffan Hughes dotting down a brilliant try.

The moment has been viewed 1.2 millions times already since being posted, with over 23,000 likes. It's not the first time this score has gone viral, either, getting over 2 million views and 100,000 likes last year. Hughes, the man who scored the try, is now playing for Old Glory DC in America at the age of 31.

Despite the hype surrounding Williams, he never earned a senior cap for Wales. In his club career he played for Scarlets and Bristol, and has played at Dragons RFC since 2018.

Williams was named as part of the 2014 Wales touring squad, and was even named on the replacements bench against Tonga in 2013, but he sadly never got a cap.
