How did the players fare in Newcastle United's 4-3 win over Nottingham Forest?

NEWCASTLE (4-3-3):

6 Pope: Let down by those in front for all of Nottingham Forest’s goals.

6 Livramento: Played on the front foot in the first half but very sloppy in the second.

6 Schar: Did a good job on the isolated Chris Wood in the first half - was caught ball-watching for Forest’s second goal and didn’t track Milenkovic.

6 Burn: Like Schar, was at ease in the first half - caused a scare in the second when he almost lost possession but made a key covering tackle

8 HALL: Brilliant in the first half when he created Newcastle’s first two goals and won the penalty - surely a nailed-on starter for England next month

6 Guimaraes:  Bossed it in the first half but Newcastle’s midfield lost control in the second

7 Willock:  Only in the side because of Tonali’s minor issue but took full advantage - his best performance of the season so far

8 Miley: First Premier League start of the season but more will soon follow - immense in the first half, scoring the crucial first goal

7 Murphy: Nightmare start when he gifted Forest opener, but made amends with goal and caused problems down the right

6 Gordon: Linked up well with Hall in the first half but quiet in the second when Newcastle needed a release valve

7 Isak: Had a hand in Newcastle’s second with class touch - showed his confidence with cheeky penalty and scored second less than two minutes later

Subs:

6 Tonali (for Willock, 70): Introduced to wrestle back control but couldn’t get a grip of the game

5 Barnes (for Murphy, 70): Tough game to make an impact after Newcastle had lost their way

Wilson (for Isak, 87)

(not used): Dubravka, Trippier, Targett, Krafth, Osula, Longstaff.

NOTTM FOREST (4-2-3-1):

Sels 5; Aina 5, Milenkovic 6, Murillo 5, Williams 6; ANDERSON 6 (Sangare, 76), Dominguez 5 (Yates, 76); Elanga 5, Gibbs-White 6, Hudson-Odoi 6; Wood 5.

Subs (not used): Hennessey, Morato, Awoniyi, Toffolo, Moreno, Jota, Sosa.

Man Of The Match: LEWIS HALL - Newcastle’s best player, as he has been on several occasions this season.
