Captain Bruno Fernandes said Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim instructed his players to "stick to the plan" after fighting back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Everton at Goodison Park.
United staged an unlikely comeback in their final visit to the Toffees' historic home, rescuing a point via second half goals from Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte, who volleyed in a terrific equaliser.
United trailed 2-0 at half-time following goals from Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure and were staring down the barrel of a third successive Premier League defeat. They were second best and could have been even further behind.

However, United improved after the break and that was key in enabling them to take a share of the spoils.
"We had our chances in the second half but the problem was we started the game too late," Fernandes told TNT Sports. "We gave away the first half.
"We were too static and it was difficult to create some situations. We need to start the games better, we know that.
"We spoke at half-time about how we can't, every time we concede a goal, be down. It is the only time that we start. We need to start games like that.
"We are in a situation where we need to win games and create chances to score goals."
Outlining what Amorim said to his players at half-time, Fernandes added: "Sticking to the plan. The manager was very upset with us.
"We had to try and stick to the plan and to try and make it work. Even if things are not going well, we have to stick to what our ideas are, and that is what we did in the second half; we had much more freedom, much more movement.
"We were 2-0 down and had nothing to lose, and we got more into the game."
