MICHAEL Carrick has made three changes to his Middlesbrough side at Bristol City.

Dael Fry makes his first start since the defeat at Preston, replacing George Edmundson at centre-back.

Anfernee Dijksteel also returns at right-back after recovering from injury and comes in for Luke Ayling.

And Delano Burgzorg is back in the starting XI after being surprisingly dropped for last weekend's defeat to Watford. He replaces Dan Barlaser, with Carrick reverting back to his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation.

Neto Borges continues at left-back, with Ryan Giles absent because of illness.

Morgan Whittaker starts on the right flank and Kelechi Iheanacho again gets the nod at No.10, in support of striker Tommy Conway, who returns to Ashton Gate for the first time since leaving Bristol City in the summer.

Teenage midfielder Isaac Greenup is in the matchday squad for the first time. The youngster, from Normanby, has been with Boro since joining the academy at Under-7 level.
