Virgil van Dijk scored a late winner as Liverpool moved closer to the Premier League title by beating West Ham.

On a nervy afternoon at Anfield, Liverpool moved 13 points clear of Arsenal the top after the Gunners were held to a draw by Brentford on Saturday.

Victory means Arne Slot’s side could wrap up the title next weekend if Arsenal lose at Ipswich and they beat Leicester.

Luis Diaz put Liverpool ahead in the first half after a moment of magic on the right from Mohamed Salah, who celebrated signing his new contract with an assist.

But Liverpool were flat and West Ham went close to an equaliser several times before they eventually levelled in the 86th minute after a nightmare own goal from Andy Robertson after a mix up with Van Dijk.

But Van Dijk made amends three minutes later when he powered home a header from a corner.

West Ham hit the bar late on through Niclas Fullkrug but Liverpool just about held on.
