Chris Agutter enjoyed a “massive three points” and revealed why he was still not totally satisfied with his Worthing side.
Rebels beat Chippenham 4-1 to remain level on points with leaders Truro in a five-team title race in Vanarama National League south.
Mo Faal included a stunning strike in his double and Temi Babalola also scored twice.
But others were less clinical.
Boss Agutter said: “It is another massive three points.
“It is probably a reflection on how much belief we have in them that, despite the fact we won 4-1, there is a bit of dis-satisfaction again around some of our finishing.
“Towards the end of the game, it was there to go five, six or a bit more.
“But, all in all, a decent day and an important three points.”
Eastbourne Borough are still just two points off the top after a 1-0 win at ten-man St Albans.
The hosts had Jack James sent-off on 33 minutes, just after Kai Innocent volleyed what turned out to be the winner.
Borough boss Adam Murray said: “It’s a win, that is the most important thing.
“I felt we were in control for most parts of it without really doing anything special.
“We need to make these games easier.”
