FOR Winsford United, it was a night to savour.
Defeating Cheadle Heath Nomads 4-0 in front of their home fans last night confirmed Blues as champions of North West Counties Football League First Division South.
The trophy lift took place immediately after the final whistle, sparking great scenes of celebration and joy.

Blues still have two games to play this season, but they are now so far ahead of the pack that they are uncatchable.
Winsford United can take to the Barton Stadium field for one last time this season against Ashville on Saturday in celebratory mood with the pressure off, knowing the job is done.

And then they will end the season on April 12 away to Alsager Town, the club where Blues co-managers Dean Jones and Dom Johnson as well as a good number of the squad were plying their trade last season.
What a turn around it has been since the 2023/24 campaign when Blues finished 17th.
