Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro are in contention to return for Manchester United against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night but Luke Shaw is not ready.

Maguire, Yoro and Shaw all resumed team training on Friday but Shaw has not played in four months and last started for United against Luton Town on February 18 last year.

Yoro missed the wins against Real Sociedad and Leicester City with a foot injury while Maguire was absent for the past four games.

Ayden Heaven sustained a potentially serious injury at Leicester on March 16 and left the stadium in a protective boot but he came out of it during the international break.

United head coach Ruben Amorim clarified that Heaven would play again this season.

"Luke is not ready yet," Amorim said. "We are starting to do some drills with the team but we are building Luke. Mason Mount is feeling better but he was already on the bench the last game.

"Kobbie is almost returning but he is not ready for this game. Jonny Evans is recovering, Ayden is recovering. Licha (Martinez) is out, I think that’s it. Maguire is also ready to go to the game and Yoro, yes.

"[Heaven] was not so serious. He’s recovering, he’s not ready to play but he’s going to return this season, for sure.

"I think it is also really exciting [to have players back] because really tough matches but we already had that kind of schedule in the last weeks with less players. So it is really important for us to have the players available, for them to fight, for us to rotate during matches.

"Different characteristics give us different opportunities to win football matches. It is a very good moment in our season.

"I know we have at at least least three games in Premier League (against Forest, Manchester City and Newcastle) that are really tough but the team is prepared to face those games and the Europa League is also a key point for us in this final run."

Although United will be without five players at the City Ground Patrick Dorgu is available again after serving a three-match suspension.

United won their last two fixtures before the March internationals and they have only lost three of their 17 matches this calendar year, excluding the FA Cup fifth round penalty shootout with Fulham.

"You can say I am really confident," Amorim stressed. "I feel the players are more confident, the energy is different. But I also know that can change with results.

"We are focused on maintaining the energy, we worked on some things we have a lot to improve, even the games we won we can acknowledge we have a lot to improve, and are ready for the final two months of the season.

"I don’t know which place we are going to finish but we are looking up and we want to win games. We still have matches to finish in a different position.

"We have more confidence, so we are looking up, we want to win games and that is our focus."
