MARC Sneyd is feeling good after “a proper battle” on his Warrington Wolves debut having inspired his side to a key victory.
Just over a week after joining from Salford Red Devils, the experienced scrum-half expertly steered The Wire to a 14-12 win over St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
He set up a try for half-back partner George Williams with a neat low kick and added three goals, which proved critical in a match that saw both sides score two tries each.
As such, he was named as Sky Sports’ man of the match and in his on-field interview at full time, he expressed his delight.
“It was a good one,” he said.
“I was just saying to George (Williams) then that I prefer those sorts of games to the 50-0s, when you’re on the right side of them anyway.
“It was a proper battle – it always is when you come to Saints – but it’s a really good feeling.
“My first game in this shirt and what a way to start, I enjoyed it!”
