NEWCASTLE UNITED will be nervously awaiting an injury update on Anthony Gordon after the winger had to be helped from the field at the final whistle of England's 2-0 win over Albania.
Gordon was a 74th-minute substitute at Wembley, coming on to replace Marcus Rashford, who had started on the left-hand side.
The Magpies wide-man had barely touched the ball before he was involved in a challenge on the left touchline that left him wincing in pain.
Gordon was clearly experiencing discomfort with his hip, but he tried to continue even though he was initially only able to hobble rather than run.
He eventually broke into two sprints down the flank, but the second, which came in stoppage time, ended with him falling to floor.

He was being treated as the final whistle blew, and had to be helped to his feet by two members of England's medical staff.
He then hobbled down the tunnel while the rest of his team-mates celebrated in the centre-circle and acknowledged the England fans.
It remains to be seen whether Gordon is able to recover in time for England's second World Cup qualifier against Latvia on Monday evening, but Newcastle boss Eddie Howe will be hoping he has not sustained any serious damage.
Gordon has missed Newcastle's last two matches following his sending off in the FA Cup defeat to Brighton, and will also have to sit out the home game against Brentford on April 2.
However, provided he has not suffered a major injury issue, he should be available to make his Magpies return against Leicester City on April 7.
