Liverpool Legends take on Chelsea Legends in the annual legends charity match this weekend.
The match is being presented by Liverpool’s official training partner AXA, with all funds raised going to support the vital work of the LFC Foundation.
Meanwhile the Blues will be raising funds for Chelsea Foundation and in particular, the Chelsea Players’ Trust which supports the welfare of those who made the club what it is today.
It’s a fixture that marks the 20th anniversary of an intense rivalry between Liverpool and Chelsea. Back in the 2004/05 season, the two teams met five times across all competitions, including the Champions League semi-final and the League Cup final.
The Reds claimed victory in the former en route to their memorable win over AC Milan on Europe’s biggest stage, whilst the domestic cup success set the Blues on their way to winning their first-ever Premier League title, thus ending a 50-year wait to be crowned champions of England once again.
Sir Kenny Dalglish will lead the Liverpool Legends against the Chelsea Legends managed by Roberto Di Matteo with both teams featuring players who were very much involved in historic battles between the two sides.
Date, kick-off time and venue
Liverpool Legends vs Chelsea Legends is scheduled for a 3pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
