Blackburn Rovers have no senior players out on international duty for the first time in several years.

Injuries and recent departures have depleted the number of players available for call-ups. Sam Szmodics and Arnor Sigurdsson were regulars for their country but have left Ewood Park

Ryan Hedges and Owen Beck might have travelled with Wales had it not been for their recent issues. Beck has been named in every squad for Craig Bellamy whilst on loan at Rovers, until now.

Similarly, Andi Weimann would've gone away with Austria had his season not been curtailed with a knee injury. Augustus Kargbo too, would've travelled for Sierra Leone's World Cup Qualifiers but he is recovering from his hamstring set-back.

Of those fit and available, neither Yuki Ohashi nor Balazs Toth got the calls from Japan or Hungary. Both have played very little football this calendar year, with Ohashi just returning from injury. Dom Hyam and Sondre Tronstad weren't called up either.

The upside for Valerien Ismael is he gets more opportunity to work with his group on the training pitch. Numbers are already low after a spate of bad luck and a filling treatment room.

Rovers do have some internationals in their youth set-up though. Adam Khan will go away with Pakistan. Aodhan Doherty and Tom Atcheson are both in the Northern Ireland Under-21s squad.

Patrik Frakas will be part of the Hungary Under-19 groups and Bruce Lemming will team up with Wales Under-18s.
