Loads of tributes have poured in following the death of a Glasgow Rangers legend.

On Sunday, March 16, Rangers announced former player Don Kichenbrand had died aged 91.

The famous Glasgow side said they were 'saddened' to learn of Don's passing.

After the club announced his death on social media, hundreds of fans paid tribute to the much-loved footballer.

One said: "Sad to hear the passing of a true Rangers legend."

Another added: "I loved watching him.

"Would run through brick walls for the team. Was at Ibrox when he scored five goals in an 8 - 0 win over QoS."

A third chimed: "A proper player in his day. RIP Don."

A fourth said: "Legend. All the best to his friends and family RIP."

Meanwhile, a fifth Gers fan added: "One of my father's favourite Rangers players. Condolences to all the family."

Known as The Rhino, the South African star was the oldest living Ranger.

During his time at Ibrox, he scored 24 goals in 25 league games when the Light Blues won the title under Scot Symon in the 1955/1956 season.

In total, he played for the Glasgow side 37 times. Meanwhile, during his career, he also played for Sunderland, Forfar Athletic, and Keith.

Announcing Don's death, a Rangers FC spokesperson said: "Everyone at Rangers is saddened to have learned of the passing of former player, Don Kichenbrand, at the age of 91.

"Don, known as ‘The Rhino’; was the oldest living Ranger and scored 24 goals in 25 league appearances as the Light Blues won the title under Scot Symon in season 1955-56.

"In all, he featured 37 times for Rangers. He also played for several clubs in South Africa, as well as Sunderland, Forfar Athletic and Keith in the UK.

"The thoughts of everyone at Rangers are with Don’s family and friends at this difficult time."
