John McGinn believes the best of Marco Asensio is still to come despite the Paris Saint-Germain loanee scoring seven goals in his last five games for Aston Villa.
Only Ousmane Dembele (eight) has scored more goals in Europe's big five leagues across all competitions than Asensio since his debut under Unai Emery last month.
He has bagged braces in each of his last three home appearances, including against Club Brugge last Wednesday as he came off the bench to score either side of Ian Maatsen’s first for the club.

"He can't miss at the minute, it's brilliant,” McGinn said. “He just seems to be in the right position. In another couple of games he was close to bagging some more. When we see him in full flow, I'm sure it'll be a joy to have him in the team.
"He's not even at full fitness, which is the exciting thing for us. Him coming on, he adds a bit of composure and quality. I think tonight he was exactly what was needed in the second half.
"I'm delighted for him. He looks as if he's got a spring in his step. He's really enjoying it. He's enjoying Birmingham.
"He's a great teammate to have around. Hopefully he can keep banging the goals in and thankfully for us he can play against PSG, which is great.
Villa will head to Paris to face Asensio’s parent club on Wednesday, April 9, before hosting the French champions in B6 the following Tuesday.
"It's completely bizarre, but we had that with Samuel (Iling-Junior) earlier in the season and Sam was fully focused with Bologna,” McGinn said of Asensio facing PSG. “It's the way football's changed. The rules have changed and it's just the way it is.
"Marco's delighted he can play, obviously, because it's the last eight of the Champions League and it's somewhere he's been a lot more than the rest of us.
“I'm sure he'll play a little bit unaffected [playing PSG]. I think when Coutinho went to play back against Barcelona, with Bayern Munich, he showed that he could do that.
"I'm sure it'll be strange for him. But I've got no mates at PSG so I'll be fine."
McGinn added: "He's not the most chatty of guys. He's pretty quiet and reserved. Absolutely no ego. I think it'll be a strange one for him, but maybe he's got a bit to prove to them.
"He probably feels he deserved more game time. He probably feels like he can still contribute to PSG, but he's here. We love having him here. His quality is just clear to see.
"I don't know how much percentage fitness-wise he was at. You could see his legs were strapped up a wee bit.
"But as long as he keeps putting the performances in like that, he'll be on the pitch whether he's 20, 30, 40 percent fit.
"There's a lot more to come for Marco and I'm sure he'll be giving us some tips on how to get past PSG.”
