AFC Bolton Ladies are targeting a league and cup double this season after securing the title.
The team have recently sealed the Lancashire Women’s County League Division One North/West championship after winning all 12 of their league outings.
They scored 92 goals - an average of more than seven goals pre game - en route to the title and finished eight points clear of Sir Tom Finney FC Ladies Blue in second place.
Now the Bolton side are focused on winning the Divisional League Cup which comprises three divisions - North West, North and South East - after progressing to the quarter-finals.
It has already been a fantastic campaign which has delighted the coaching staff at AFC Bolton.
Joint manager Ian Haggart said: “This season was going to be one of development.
“Last season we were runners-up in Division One of the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League and the Cup, but the squad lost six key players to university and moving away from the area.
“To hit the ground running with a new group of players and to win all our league games in the process was very pleasing for the coaching team.
“The challenge for next season is to push on again and maintain the high standards the players have set.”
Fellow joint boss, Darren Winnard, said: “The ladies have been excellent all season.
“We have had our usual bumps along the way, like all teams have, but the team spirit and togetherness we have shown is a testament to how much the ladies wanted to achieve our season goals.
“We now focus on the cup, nothing has changed, we keep training hard, progressing week on week with the focus to take that trophy home.
“It’s been a pleasure to coach the ladies team this year, the standards they have delivered have been excellent.
“Also a mention to the coaching staff who have worked hard - they also deserve some recognition for the results this season.”
