RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose has hinted that Aston Villa loanee Kosta Nedeljkovic is in the club's long-term plans.

The 19-year-old right back joined Leipzig on loan in January after struggling for game time under Unai Emery in the first half of the campaign.

Leipzig hold an option to buy Nedeljkovic for a fee of over £12m, with Villa willing to offload him just a year after securing him from Serbian giants Crvena zvezda.

He has made three appearances for the German side, coming off the bench in games against Augsburg, Heidenheim and Mainz.

“(He) gives Leipzig things that we were still looking for in the squad,” Rose said of Nedeljkovic.

“(He’s) rock solid, technically good, hard working and fighting full-back with great speed who still has great potential for development and yes, I would trust myself to actually throw the boy in from the start.”

Asked about the possibility of activating the buy clause, the Leipzig boss replied: "We are in the middle of a change that we have been initiating for two years. Kosta is part of it, the boy will be good."

Villa signed Andres Garcia from Levante for £5m before letting Nedeljkovic leave on loan.

Garcia has impressed in the seven appearances he has made since joining Villa from La Liga 2.
