A GoFundMe has been launched to support the family of Rangers fan Christopher Potter, who died in Istanbul this week.

Christopher travelled to Turkey with thousands of Gers fans to watch the club's Europa League clash against Fenerbahce, which is set to take place tonight.

However, Christopher was tragically killed in Turkey following a road traffic incident.

A spokesperson for the team said: "We are devastated to have learned of the passing of one of our supporters in a road traffic accident overnight in Istanbul.

"The immediate thoughts of everyone at the club are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

"We are remaining in constant contact with both the Turkish and British authorities over this tragic incident."

A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesperson said: "We are aware of the death of a British man in Turkey and are in touch with the local authorities."

Now, those close to Christopher have begun fundraising, in a bid to raise money for anything needed like helping with funeral costs or family.

The person behind the fundraiser wrote: "Hi, as everybody is aware, Christopher potter was tragically killed while away watching his beloved rangers.

"Let’s try and get some money together to help with any costs needed, his funeral, getting him home or just to help his wife and kids. Let’s dig deep.

"All donations will be greatly appreciated."

At the time of writing, the fundraiser had gathered over £21,000.
