Jack Grealish was pictured being shepherded out of a pub after visiting various drinking spots on a day off following Manchester City’s FA Cup win against Plymouth Argyle.
The England playmaker was spotted at venues in Manchester and the North-East as he unwound with friends, having featured in the starting line-up for the 3-1 victory on Saturday.
Grealish was photographed holding what appeared to be a glass bottle at 10.52pm on Sunday evening as a friend ushered him to a chauffeured car near the Dubliner pub in Newcastle.
He reportedly visited the pub, which advertises live music seven times a week, after earlier spending time at the North Biddick Social Club near Sunderland, where drinks are advertised at as little as £3 a pint.
Previously that same day, Grealish had been at the Lord Nelson pub in Gorton, Manchester, posing for photographs with locals and fans.
The midfielder had the previous day returned to Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up for the fifth-round tie after a difficult 2024-25 campaign. He has made just 14 starting appearances across all competitions, with his manager questioning his fitness. Guardiola, however, said last week there are “no question marks about his quality”. “Please, never, ever, ever doubt the quality that Jack has,” Guardiola said.
“For problems, he cannot play three games in a row; playing a game against Nottingham (Forest) good, and after maybe he didn’t play and in the training session was injured again,” he explained.
“So not big issues, but (Jack Grealish) cannot make a big effort, sustaining again, and again, and again. This is the only question mark – no other one.”
Grealish recently welcomed his first child, Mila, with partner Sasha Attwood - but has acknowledged on and off field difficulties over the past year. “Last year, the whole year itself, it was weird because my little daughter was born, but apart from that it was one of the most difficult years - probably the most difficult year of my life for many reasons, on and off the pitch,” Grealish has previously said. “I found it really difficult. But it’s a new year, a sort of fresh start, and hopefully I can kick on from here.”
