AFTER a hectic February, things start to quieten down now for Warrington Rylands – and not before time, it seems.

And as he prepares his side for something of a revenge mission against Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday, manager Neil Reynolds admits his dressing room is littered with tired bodies.

A 1-1 draw at Basford United at the weekend brought Rylands’ calendar month to an end – a month that saw them play seven games in just 21 days.

They won four of those, but one of the two defeats came against Saturday’s opponents, whose 3-1 win in Lincolnshire on February 11 brought Blues’ 12-match unbeaten run to a halt.

And as the Holy Blues make the return trip to Gorsey Lane, Reynolds hopes a squad refreshed by their first free midweek in what feels like a long time will be there to meet them.

“It will be nice to get a full week of training,” he said.

“We know we’re going to have to rest some bodies, but everybody is in the same boat. It’s been a long season so every team is carrying injuries and suspensions.

“Gainsborough got the better of us only a couple of weeks ago, so we’ve got to learn.

“We’ll work hard in training, do things right and hopefully put the wrongs right on Saturday.

“You can see we’ve got some tired bodies – we’ve got lads strapping ankles up, taking painkilling injections before the game, we’re having to leave lads at home.

“We’ve got to utilise and maximise the squad we’ve got.”

One of the players Reynolds will hope to have back is striker George Waring, who has missed the past two matches having scored four times in his previous four appearances.

He has, however, managed to make a new signing in the shape of midfielder Callum Gribbin, with whom he reunites after previously having him as part of his squad at FC United of Manchester.
